Headlands State Park, Ohio. Memorial Day, '11 @ sunrise

First time visiting the park in my life and I only lived about 30 minutes away....

Also decided to do an HDR version for the heck of it: http://gregmurray.smugmug.com/Nature/Mentor-Headlands-State-Park/17304953_6Fbh8Q#1315286530_G5TMnK5
Why not follow a daily of a sunset over Cleveland with a nice sunrise over the city.....especially since we haven't seen sun in days it seems.

Sept '10, Cleveland skyline at sunrise.

I love this one. Nothing real special about the actual photo, more the meaning behind it. I took it with my G11 the morning I ran my farthest distance ever at a 24hr race. Just one of those things that reminds me of significant day.....and we need some sun here.

I thought I'd mess around and do some pp with it. I really enjoy the lomo effect and like the old/vintage feel it gives. Kind of makes me want to buy a lomo camera.

CLE Metroparks, Rocky River Reservation, Mastick area, early morning - hdr

Was able to sneak this shot in and some other ones before and after my run, great day to bring the camera out with me.

1/23/11 Sunrise at Edgewater Park Pier overlooking a frozen over Lake Erie. One of my favorite places in the city to take photos. Typically Cleveland has extremely mild winters, very little snow, average temps, and rarely a frozen lake. I'm not sure where Forbes magazine got the info that we are the 2nd snowiest city in the country????:)

Here's almost the identical photo, summer of '10. One of my favorites from last year.

Great weekend, two daily's today, here's the other.

ALSO, Finally got some decent HDR work done. Still learning, but it's a start.

Link to my HDR Album. All taken yesterday evening on the edge of Tremont overlooking downtown Cleveland during sunset.

This photo has some very minor pp obviously. I love color in my non B&W photos but also have plenty of originals. Since being on the site, I've found some people are not a fan of editing too often and prefer sticking with the original. Either way, I appreciate all comments, good, bad, critical, offering advice, etc!! I've learned a lot and appreciate it very much
No photo from yesterday so I'm reaching into the archives. This is one of my favorites from my November '10 road trip.

Sunrise as I was leaving Sedona, Arizona. I was on the highway and couldn't pass this shot up with the clear sky and great colors. Got off an exit with nothing there, drove a bit down the road and hung out for about a half hour. Was a great way to start the day.

Here is a picture of the sky at about the same time, looking straight up into the stars:
