Santa Barbara Divide trail run near Penasco, New Mexico. Truchas peak in the background.

Photo of my brother during a 30 mile training run in NM. Thought about this photo recently(my favorite from that day) as I'm heading out there in May for a 50 mile race that we're running in together.

About 20 minutes and a couple miles before this photo was taken, a bear ran across the path into a group of trees. The only way we could keep going was to run by the grouping of trees. For some odd reason, I became a bit nervous when we saw the bear from a distance but not at all when we ran by where it entered. Maybe because there wasn't anything we could do and whatever happens, happens! Needless to say, we spent 7 hrs in the middle of nowhere and I was happy to be alive when the run was over.
Zia

I'm breaking the rules, this is not my photo. My brother took it, with his G10 I believe. Zia is my brother and sister-in-law's new boxer in New Mexico. I just thought the photo was really neat and wanted to post it, great looking puppy. Haven't had much time this week to get the camera out. Putting up my pieces for the art walk tonight....

Here's another good one of Zia.

On another note, I've recently received some requests to take very specific shots of Cleveland for people. Pretty excited about that!

On the morning of my brother's wedding in Santa Fe he and I went for a run at the SF ski area which overlooks the city. We made it to the top at about 12,000 ft of elevation before heading back down. At the top left of the photo, you can see the Sandia Mountains that overlook Albuquerque, my 2nd home.

A photo of the both of us near the top of the ski area.

Running with a tripod is possible. Love the mountains!
Failed at my first HDR attempt yesterday and was hoping to post it today. But I know what I did wrong and will be giving it another shot later today. Conditions were very windy, it was a night shot, had the wrong setting, couldn't keep the tripod still. I was a bit inpatient and need to take my time next try. BUT, I got the AEB working fine, so I'm ok there! I know where I'm taking it today, should be fine, looking forward to seeing some results

This was taken last Nov during sunrise in my brother's backyard in Albuquerque, NM.
